Three men have denied murdering a teenager who died in a crash between a car and a motorbike. Ceiran Evans, 18, died in a traffic collision on Pen Cae Crwn Road in Gorseinon on July 9. Following his death, his family said he was "loved more than any words can say".
Pleas entered at Swansea Crown Court
On Tuesday, Tyler Ford, aged 18, Elliot Truelove, aged 33, and 18-year-old Liam Thomas pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr Evans at a plea and trial preparation hearing at Swansea Crown Court. The trio also pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of a second male involved in the collision, and not guilty to attempting to cause the same male grievous bodily harm with intent.
A fourth defendant, 36-year-old Trisha Thomas, pleaded not guilty to assisting an offender. She is alleged to have driven the defendant Truelove away from the scene.
Trial date and further remand
A trial date has previously been set for January 11 next year, and prosecution barrister Matthew Roberts KC said given the number of defendants the trial would likely last six weeks. A pre-trial review will be held on a date to be confirmed in December.
Tyler Ford, of Morriston, Liam Thomas, of Morriston, Elliot Truelove, of West Cross, Swansea, and Trisha Thomas, of Gorseinon, were all further remanded into custody until the next hearing.
Family tribute
Following his death, Mr Evans' family paid tribute to him by saying: "Ceiran was loved more than any words can say and will be missed every single day. His kind heart, wicked sense of humour, loving nature, and handsome smile brought so much joy to everyone who knew him. He will forever be our precious baby boy; always loved, always remembered, and never forgotten."
