High Fibre Tipped for Cesarewitch Glory at Newmarket
High Fibre Tipped for Cesarewitch Glory at Newmarket

High Fibre (3.40) is tipped to land the Club Godolphin Cesarewitch at Newmarket, with the last eight winners of the historic marathon handicap having run over jumps within the previous 12 months.

Proven Stamina and Course Form

James Owen's stayer fits the bill, having landed a gamble in the competitive Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen in July. His stamina really kicked in down the straight and he pulled clear in the closing stages.

He showed his versatility when beating stablemate Percy Shelley over 2m on Newmarket's July Course the following month, and his second behind Moon Chime at York last month was another good effort, considering that sharper track doesn't play to his strengths.

Course Record and Equipment

His only defeat in three visits to the Newmarket courses came when beaten a nose as a three-year-old way back in 2022. He's a strong stayer, and this 2m2f distance should bring out the best in him. The visor he has worn for his last three starts also seems to have helped.

This race looks ideal. Have 2pts each-way at 22-1. Sky Bet is paying out on seven places.

Fine Interview at York

There's a decent card for York's final meeting of the year, where Fine Interview (3.17) looks a decent bet. He's fresher than most of his rivals in the Sky Bet Sprint Trophy after being kept away from fast ground during the summer.

This will be just his fifth run of the year, and he lines up in this competitive 6f handicap having finished second of the unfavoured stands' side group in the Ayr Gold Cup. He also ran well over today's course and distance behind subsequent Listed winner Sondad at the Ebor Festival in July despite being drawn right out on the far-side flank.

His stall six berth looks ideal this time, and the blinkers he wears for the first time promise to have a positive effect. Have 1pt each-way at 12-1. A couple of bookies are offering six places.

Kocktail Bleu at Chepstow

The dry conditions might have restricted Chepstow's first jumps meeting of the autumn to an all hurdles card, but the Welsh track has been rewarded with plenty of runners.

Kocktail Bleu (4.02) had some smart novice form last season, and Chris Gordon's runner is likely to love the return to 2m4f in the Wasdell Group Silver Trophy. Have 2pts each-way at 11-1. Most firms go five places.
