Flavio Cobolli made an emergency trip to the toilet during his Wimbledon match against Karen Khachanov after struggling with an upset stomach. The Italian lost the first set 6-0 in just 18 minutes, but after a visit from the doctor and a bathroom break, he returned to Court 2 and battled back to win 0-6, 7-6(4), 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-2.
First Set Bagel and Toilet Break
Cobolli, the No. 9 seed, was bagelled in the opening set, surrendering it in only 18 minutes. He then requested a medical timeout and dashed to the toilet. After the break, he claimed the second set tiebreak and went on to secure a five-set victory in one hour and 18 minutes of play after the interruption.
Interviewer Reacts to 'Too Much Information'
During his on-court interview after the match, Cobolli explained: "I felt some strange feelings in my stomach and then the doctor helped me. When I came back from the bathroom I was ok." The interviewer chuckled and interrupted: "Maybe a little bit too much information." Cobolli added: "Now I'm just tired. Not any more with the stomach. I am looking forward to the next one."
