England recorded their first win since this summer's World Cup with a 2-0 triumph over Czechia in the UEFA Nations League. It is the 1966 World Cup winners' first points in this year's Nations League, having suffered a 3-2 defeat to Spain on Saturday.
Red card and early chances
The opening 45 minutes were goalless but not without incident, as a VAR review midway through the first half led to a red card for Czechia's Pavel Sulc. The midfielder was late on Elliot Anderson and, as a result, saw red on review.
Morgan Rogers rattled the post with an effort from 18 yards out, while Anthony Gordon flashed a shot wide from just inside the penalty area.
Second-half goals seal the win
Gordon was on target almost immediately after the restart. It was a goal made in La Liga, with the returning Trent Alexander-Arnold picking out Gordon, whose delicate header did the damage from close range. One became two 69 minutes in when Harry Kane rifled home inside the penalty area to put the match out of Czechia's reach.

Had a much more comfortable evening than Saturday night, when he was up against one of the best attacks in world football. Did make a solid save with the score still at 1-0.
Trent Alexander-Arnold - 8
Oh what could've been, ey? Nobody argued the ex-Liverpool man was the complete right-back, but his skill set is so unique, it was foolish not to take him to the World Cup. Put in a delightful cross for the opener and was solid throughout.
Trevoh Chalobah - 6
Has had to bide his time for a proper chance in an England shirt and has continued his impressive start to the season after moving to Como.
Marc Guehi - 6
Looked shaky to begin with but settled into the game as it went on.
Lewis Hall - 8
Another who had a worthy case to be involved in England's World Cup squad. Looked like a seasoned international out on the left-hand side of defence.
Elliot Anderson - 7
Had to cover a lot of ground in midfield without his usual chum Declan Rice alongside him.
Myles Lewis-Skelly - 6
Really tidy on the ball but struggled at times while the game was 11v11.
Morgan Rogers - 7
Looked threatening all evening and was perhaps unlucky not to end the night with a goal contribution of some kind.
Bukayo Saka - 7
Grew into the game as it went on but lacked end product during his 70-minute cameo.
Harry Kane - 8
Came close in the first half, but made no mistake with a clinical finish in the second. Can't be kept quiet for long.
Anthony Gordon - 8
It feels like he's taken a step up in recent weeks. He's operating with a different purpose since the Barcelona move and is one of the Three Lions' best players right now.

Eberechi Eze - 7
Came on at half-time and added an extra sparkle to England's attack.
Rio Ngumoha - 6
Always a delight on the ball and will have welcomed his first real taste of competitive international action.
Alex Scott - 6
Debut for the national team, and it's expected to be the first of many.
Jude Bellingham - 6
Came close with a drilled effort late on but otherwise didn't offer much.
Morgan Gibbs-White - 6
Made some surging runs from deep and will be hoping to get more minutes in the upcoming matches.
