Wise Approach is the selection for the ebfstallions.com Conditions Stakes (7.30, NAP) at Kempton on Wednesday evening. The Godolphin colt is one of three Group 1 winners in the six-furlong contest, alongside Kind Of Blue, winner of the British Champions Sprint, and Montassib, who took the Haydock Sprint Cup in 2024.
Return to form signs
Trained by Charlie Appleby, Wise Approach landed the Middle Park Stakes 12 months ago but has not added to that score this season, with no top-three finishes. However, in first-time cheekpieces over seven furlongs last time out, he showed signs of a revival.
He ran his best race of the year to finish fourth, two and a half lengths behind More Thunder, Flora Of Bermuda and Qirat in the Group 2 Park Stakes at Doncaster. Back at six furlongs with the headgear retained, he can end his campaign on a winning note.
Venetian Lion the next best
Earlier on the card, Venetian Lion is tipped in the Industry Leading In-Play Markets At Unibet Handicap (7.00, NB), a qualifier for the London Mile. Since being gelded and fitted with a tongue tie, the William Haggas-trained three-year-old has won three of his four starts.
He completed a hat-trick at Pontefract 13 days ago and has been raised only 5lb for that cosy success, leaving him ahead of the assessor.
At Catterick, Duchess Of Immatin is fancied to defy a welter weight in the Racing To School Nursery Handicap (1.57) under champion apprentice elect Jack Callan.
