Conor McGregor weighed just half a pound more than Max Holloway at Friday's official weigh-in for their UFC 329 welterweight rematch in Las Vegas. McGregor tipped the scales at 170.5lb, inside the 171lb limit, while Holloway, making his welterweight debut, came in at 170lb.
First Fight Since 2021 Leg Break
McGregor will fight for the first time since breaking his leg in the first round of his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier five years ago. This marks his fourth career appearance at welterweight. Holloway, the former featherweight champion, is moving up a division for this matchup.
Neither fighter made comments during the weigh-in. Holloway was the first on the card to step on the scales, followed shortly by McGregor. The two will face off for the final time later Friday before their five-round main event on Saturday night.
McGregor Promises Early Finish
At Thursday's press conference, McGregor displayed his trademark confidence, promising an early night. "I can destroy Max inside 10 seconds," he said. "I have knockouts inside three seconds on my fighting record. I have Hall of Fame fighters, multiple Hall of Fame UFC fighters defeated and destroyed both together and under a minute, and I can add Max to that. However, don't get it twisted. If we go into deep waters, Max is going to be in a lot of trouble, he will be badly concussed."
During the press conference, McGregor grabbed Holloway's glasses during their face-off and slapped his rival's hand away as they came together for the first time this week.
Holloway Confident of Victory
Holloway also exuded confidence ahead of the bout. "I can't wait. I think we see the best Conor McGregor come Saturday night and I look forward to it," he said. "I'm telling you, it's going to be a long night for Conor McGregor come Saturday night. We're taking him to deep, deep waters."
UFC 329: McGregor vs Holloway 2 will be broadcast exclusively live on TNT Sports Box Office via HBO Max, EE TV, Virgin Media TV, Prime Video and Sky.
