Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Isaac Konde from Liverpool as negotiations continue over a compensation package between the two clubs.
The 16-year-old has signed a one-year scholarship with the Red Devils, and is set to sign a five-year professional contract when he turns 17.
Compensation talks ongoing
Liverpool expect to pocket a compensation package that will reach seven figures after the teenager opted against continuing his development on Merseyside.
United announced his arrival in a club statement on Monday which read: “Manchester United have agreed the signing of winger Isaac Konde.
“The talented youngster has joined after leaving Liverpool. The 16-year-old had his first taste of Under-18 football at Liverpool, featuring regularly towards the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
“Everyone at the club would like to welcome Isaac to United and wish him the very best of luck.”
Liverpool exit after eight years
Capable of playing on either wing, or through the middle, Konde made six U18 Premier League appearances for Liverpool last season.
The 16-year-old registered one assist and also started the final two games of the league season. But such action was not enough to help convince him to put pen to paper to stay put at Anfield.
After declining the opportunity to sign scholarship forms with the Reds, he has now left the club after eight years on Merseyside.
Left off the list of first-year scholars announced in July, he has now joined Vincent Joseph in leaving the club, after the England youth international joined Arsenal earlier this month.
Konde will now link up with Darren Fletcher’s Under-18s after making the switch to Old Trafford.
