Manchester United Deny Training Ground Clash Between Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United have denied reports that forwards Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes were involved in a training ground altercation. The club dismissed claims of a confrontation, which were initially reported by The Times, as the pair have endured mixed form this season.

Greenwood, 19, has struggled to replicate last season's form, scoring only twice so far after being sent home from England duty in September for breaching COVID-19 protocols and later apologising for inhaling laughing gas. Fernandes, 26, has also been below his best but recently scored twice in a 3-1 win over Everton.

According to reports, United are concerned about Greenwood's lifestyle, believing he is not getting enough sleep and needs to improve his conditioning. The club reportedly feels he does not fully understand the importance of such factors, which were crucial in Cristiano Ronaldo's development at Old Trafford.

Former United striker Dimitar Berbatov has urged Greenwood to 'stay in the right lane' and learn from his mistakes. Berbatov expressed confidence that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a former striker himself, can provide the right guidance to help Greenwood fulfil his potential.

Greenwood could feature when United face West Brom on 21 November after the international break.
