UFC's White House Event Card Finalised, Dana White Confirms Historic June Show
UFC White House Event Card Built, Dana White Confirms Details

UFC President Dana White has provided a significant update on the promotion's groundbreaking White House event, confirming that the fight card has now been fully constructed. The unprecedented spectacle is scheduled for 14 June, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 80th birthday of former President Donald Trump.

Historic Event Details and Location

The UFC will host this unique fight card, which is expected to take place on the South Lawn of the White House. This marks the first time the mixed martial arts organisation has staged an event at this iconic location. Approximately 3,000 to 4,000 spectators are anticipated to attend, with no tickets being sold to the general public. The card will feature between six and seven professional bouts, though specific matchups remain undisclosed.

White's Clarification on Card Completion

During recent comments, White initially stated that the White House card was "done" last week, before clarifying his position. "I didn't say it was done; I said the card was built," White explained. "We have like two different options laid out, and the matchmaking process has already started." The UFC president remained tight-lipped about potential title fights on the card, refusing to provide further details about the specific bouts.

White elaborated on the planning process, revealing that he and UFC executive Craig Borsari will travel to Washington DC this week to meet with President Trump and his team. "We'll sit down with the president and his team, and start walking them through not just the production but the fight card," White said. "We have like three different options on all the different production stuff – see what he likes and doesn't like."

Potential Fighter Involvement and Speculation

Several high-profile fighters have expressed interest in competing at the historic event, though White has been cautious about confirming any participants. Retired champion Jon Jones and long-absent superstar Conor McGregor have both thrown their names into consideration for potential bouts. White expressed reservations about Jones, whose career has been marked by multiple legal issues and failed drug tests, while McGregor hasn't fought since 2021 after suffering a broken leg.

Former bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley commented on his potential involvement during his YouTube channel broadcast. "They said they were starting the White House card last week, I haven't got a call," O'Malley stated. "The old 'Suga' Show' might not be on the White House. It's still so far out though." O'Malley has been linked to a potential rematch with current 135lb title holder Petr Yan, whom he narrowly defeated in 2022.

Production and Financial Considerations

White emphasised the unique nature of the upcoming event, describing it as "so badass and so unique and so special, and so expensive." The production team is considering multiple options for how to announce the fights publicly, with decisions expected as the event date approaches. The collaboration between White and President Trump, who share a close friendship, has been instrumental in planning this unprecedented sporting spectacle at the White House.

The 14 June date holds dual significance, celebrating both the nation's 250th anniversary and President Trump's 80th birthday. This convergence of historical milestones and sporting entertainment creates a unique backdrop for what promises to be one of the most memorable events in UFC history.
