Tottenham Hotspur have issued indefinite bans to three supporters who made Nazi salutes during their Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany. The incident occurred during Spurs' 2-0 victory on 28 January.
The club described the behaviour as 'utterly abhorrent' and said it had cooperated with UEFA, German police, and the Metropolitan Police. All three individuals have been identified and received indefinite bans under the club's sanctions policy.
UEFA fined Tottenham €30,000 and handed them a suspended ban on selling tickets to away fans for one match. The club was also fined an additional €2,250 for the throwing of objects by fans during the same game.
In a statement, Tottenham said: 'The disgusting behaviour of a minority of so-called fans on the night is in no way reflective of the values of our club and its supporters.' The club reiterated its stance against all forms of discrimination.
Spurs' next Champions League fixture is a last-16 tie away to Atletico Madrid on 10 March. The club has also been struggling domestically with a 10-match winless run in the Premier League.
