Jadon Sancho has hit back at Manchester United supporters who criticised his contribution to Aston Villa's Europa League final run. The 26-year-old winger took to social media after Villa's 4-1 semi-final second-leg victory over Nottingham Forest on Thursday, securing their place in the final.
Sancho has now reached a European final in each of the last three seasons, all while on loan from United. He featured in the Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund in 2024 and helped Chelsea win the Conference League final last year.
After a user on X mocked his input in reaching those finals, Sancho replied: 'Yeah, make sure you have a good look!' He also responded to other critics with a shrugging emoji and light-hearted retorts, including questioning a user named 'Christiano' about the spelling of his name.
Sancho, who has made 12 appearances and scored one goal in Villa's Europa League campaign, later posted: 'Jokes aside Love n Hate today is for @AVFCOfficial goodnight Villans. See you in Istanbul!'
His contract with Manchester United expires this summer, making him a free agent. Villa manager Unai Emery has not ruled out a permanent move, stating in February that if Sancho plays his best football, 'we will want him'.
