Mohamed Salah has taken to social media to mock Besiktas president Serdal Adalı after helping Trabzonspor secure a 2-0 win over their fierce rivals on Monday night. Salah netted the second goal in the victory, bringing his tally to nine in 11 appearances since his summer move from Liverpool on a free transfer.
The Egyptian forward is expected to feature as Trabzonspor host Hearts in the Conference League on Thursday. Hearts began their European campaign with a 1-1 home draw against FC Nordsjælland last week, while Salah was on target in Trabzonspor's 4-2 away win over Finnish side KuPS.
Salah's Social Media Taunt
Salah captioned a post on X celebrating his goal with the words "Yüzde otuz beş," which translates to "thirty five percent." The comment relates to Adalı's claim that a deal for the 34-year-old fell through because his agent demanded an excessive commission.
Adalı said: "The agent's commission has been increased to unbelievable figures, around 35%. From our point of view, such a percentage is unacceptable under any circumstances, and we don't believe Salah was aware of these figures."
Hearts' Response Expected
Trabzonspor head coach Thomas Reis is anticipating a strong reaction from Wouter Vrancken's side following their 7-1 defeat away to Celtic last Sunday. Reis said: "First of all, it could be a danger if we think they had a big defeat, sometimes that has happened in my career as a coach, I have also lost seven goals and it is not so easy. They will want to show this was a one-off and we will have to be ready."
He added: "This is a really strong team. A bit similar in style of play to Besiktas, but we are prepared for this. We know that Hearts can be dangerous because of their result in the last game, they'll want to show this was only one mistake and it was a different competition."
Reis also noted Hearts' high pressing and midfield rotations, saying: "They have good rotations in their midfield with their left back, with their midfield players and wingers and we have to be ready for this. It will be an interesting game, I think a bit similar to the Besiktas one, but we want to take the three points."
