Arne Slot has revealed that Alexander Isak is in contention to return for Liverpool's crucial Premier League game against Chelsea on Saturday. The Sweden international missed last Sunday's defeat at Manchester United after sustaining a groin problem in training but trained with the squad on Thursday.
Slot also provided updates on several other players. Mohamed Salah is 'very very close' to a return from a hamstring issue, while goalkeeper Alisson is not yet ready. Giorgi Mamardashvili trained for the first time after his knee problem.
Ibrahima Konate missed training due to a personal reason but has since returned, and Florian Wirtz was unwell but trained again. Slot's side host Chelsea aiming to secure Champions League qualification.
A victory would move Liverpool nine points above sixth-place Bournemouth with three games remaining, all but guaranteeing a top-four finish.
