Ron Fowler, the former co-owner of Major League Baseball side San Diego Padres, is set to take a controlling stake in Lincoln City, the League One club have announced.
Fowler, who with his son Andrew acquired a minority stake in the Imps in April 2024 through their Liquid Investment venture, tabled a proposal at a December board meeting to increase his shareholding above 25 per cent. This move would see him assume the role of chairman.
The transition, which has been in progress since before the season, has been smooth and will not affect January transfer plans. Current chair Clive Nates will remain an integral figure as co-vice chairman alongside Jay Wright.
Lincoln have impressed under manager Michael Skubala, sitting second in League One, four points behind Cardiff City, after winning 14 of their 25 league games. The club have also built a reputation for developing talent, with academy graduate Jovon Makama scoring nine goals after a summer move to Norwich City.
