Rangers invested approximately £35 million in 14 new players during the summer transfer window as Derek McInnes aimed to rebuild the squad and challenge for silverware. The club finished third in the Premiership last season, trailing Celtic and Hearts in the title race. After a difficult start, including early exits from both the Europa League and Conference League playoffs, McInnes appears to have found a winning formula.
Top performers lead the way
Olwethu Makhanya has been the standout signing, earning a 9/10 rating. The centre-back, who arrived from Philadelphia Union, has brought a calming presence to the backline and is reportedly attracting January interest. Dan Neil, a free agent from Sunderland, scored 8/10 after forming a strong midfield partnership with Nico Raskin and scoring twice against Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup.
Min-su Kim also received 8/10 following his £8.5m move from Girona. The 20-year-old winger has earned his first South Korea cap and has become a key player for McInnes. Goalkeeper Ivor Pandur, who replaced Jack Butland for £6m from Hull City, has gone four games without conceding and earned 7/10.
Mixed results and struggles
Lawrence Shankland, the captain signed from Hearts, has scored three goals but suffered a hamstring injury, earning 5/10. Kevin Kelsy, a £9.5m recruit, netted his first goal in the 3-0 win over Celtic and also received 7/10. James Penrice, on loan from AEK, has become a fan favourite with 7/10.
At the lower end, Kosta Nedeljkovic, a loanee from Aston Villa, has made just one start in four appearances and earned 2/10. Ross McCrorie, who returned from Bristol City, lost his starting spot to Dujon Sterling and received 3/10. Ben Godfrey, on loan from Atalanta, has struggled with injury and earned 4/10.
Other arrivals rated
Cammy Devlin, who followed McInnes from Hearts, has been in and out of the team and received 4/10, partly due to a red card against Jablonec. Vanja Dragojevic, a 20-year-old from Partizan, has seen limited minutes since August and earned 5/10. Daisuke Yokota, who impressed early, has not started since August and also received 5/10. Badredine Bouanani, a deadline-day loan from Stuttgart, has shown flashes in three appearances and earned 4/10.
