Celtic hero Chris Sutton has claimed that Danny Rohl would jump at the chance to leave Rangers this summer if a suitable opportunity presents itself. The German boss has faced mounting pressure at Ibrox following a poor run of form, with four defeats in five Premiership matches leaving the Light Blues 10 points behind champions Celtic.
Sutton, speaking on The Warm-Up with Kris Boyd and Steven Naismith, suggested that Rohl is not the same confident figure who arrived in October. He pointed to the manager's handling of James Tavernier's exit and links with Wolfsburg as factors that could lead to a departure. 'I think if he got the opportunity to leave, he would,' Sutton said.
Rangers fans have grown increasingly frustrated, with many calling for the 37-year-old to be sacked. Despite a vote of confidence from chairman Andrew Cavenagh, the club's form has been inconsistent, and Rohl has been criticised for his management of key players.
Ibrox legend Kris Boyd has urged Rangers to make a move for Hearts manager Derek McInnes, suggesting he could bring captain Lawrence Shankland with him. Boyd argued that McInnes knows how to win in Scotland and could instil a winning mentality at the club. 'Rangers need to get back to winning domestically,' he said.
Rohl has been linked with recently relegated Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, and Sutton believes a move could materialise. The former Celtic striker noted that Rohl's recent interviews lack the confidence he once displayed, hinting that he may be ready for a change.
