Paris Fury Admits She Knew Tyson Would Never Truly Retire From Boxing

Paris Fury has openly confessed that she never truly believed her husband, heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, would permanently step away from the ring, despite his multiple retirement announcements. The 36-year-old mother of seven described boxing as Tyson's "life's passion," acknowledging that while she personally wishes he would prioritise his health and family, she could not deny him his dream.

'I Knew It Wouldn't Be True'

Speaking candidly to the Press Association, Ms Fury reflected on Tyson's frequent declarations of quitting the sport. "I'm happy for him. It's what he wanted, and I knew it's what he wanted," she stated. "All this time, when he kept saying he was out the ring, 'I'm out the ring, I'm not boxing, I'm not boxing' – I knew in the back of my mind that wouldn't be true."

Their eldest daughter, Venezuela, who is 16 years old, echoed this sentiment, simply stating: "I don't think he ever retired."

The Struggle to Find Alternatives

Ms Fury detailed her persistent efforts to encourage Tyson to explore other interests beyond boxing. "I kept suggesting to him, 'why don't you train people as a boxer? Why don't you get involved in something that you enjoy?'" she recounted. "He doesn't have any hobbies. And it's hard to take away someone's life's passion, and I couldn't be the one to do it."

She added with resignation: "I said to him so many times like, 'oh, I wish you'd stop boxing now, you've done everything you need to do. You don't need to do it anymore'. But he felt that itch, and he still wants to do it. So I'm not going to deny him that dream. He couldn't find anything else good. No matter what we did, we couldn't find him something he enjoyed. It's hard. It's hard work, a one-track mind with him."

Family Life and Daughter's Engagement

Beyond the boxing ring, Paris Fury also shared her thoughts on her daughter Venezuela's engagement to Noah Price, which was announced last September. While admitting to a touch of sadness at the speed of events, she expressed her full support.

"There's a part of me that is a little bit sad that it's all happened so soon, because I still feel like I'm so young, and I feel like my kids… imagine my brain, they're all babies and they're all at home," she shared. "But obviously, Venezuela is a young woman. She's 16 years old. She makes her own choices in life. But on the other hand, the mirror image. I think (she is) so lucky. Like, you've met this person that you want to spend your life with. I did the same thing at 17."

She concluded warmly: "I do think it's beautiful that she's found what she wants."

Documentary Series and Public Life

Discussing their popular fly-on-the-wall documentary series, At Home With The Furys, Ms Fury called it a "good experience" for her children. She noted that it has helped them build social skills and provided a platform for Venezuela's social media and branding work.

Despite the public's "amazing" response to the show, Ms Fury insisted that the family remains firmly grounded. "We don't realise we are celebrities. It doesn't click. Like, we just act totally normal. We live normal life. We aren't really very flash," she affirmed.

At Home With The Furys is set to return for its highly anticipated second series on Netflix on 12 April, offering fans another intimate glimpse into the lives of the Fury family.
