Trump Welcomes Former Critic Mark Cuban at Healthcare Event

Donald Trump welcomed billionaire Mark Cuban at a White House healthcare event on Monday, despite Cuban having previously backed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. The event promoted TrumpRx, a discount prescription drug site.

Cuban, co-founder of the Cost Plus Drug Company and known for his role on Shark Tank, joined Trump and administration officials. Trump remarked, “We have the same thing, one thing in common. We want to make people better and keep them wealthy.”

When a reporter questioned Cuban’s presence given his past support for Harris, Trump said, “Well, he made a mistake. It was a big mistake,” prompting laughter from Cuban. Cuban had previously criticised Trump, calling him “stupider” in 2016 and saying he “talks a good game” but does not follow through.

At the event, Cuban praised TrumpRx, stating, “I think other than you, I've been the biggest proponent of TrumpRx. The reason for that is Republicans want cheaper drugs, independents want cheaper drugs, Democrats want cheaper drugs, and together I think we're going to do something special.” He noted that 559 drugs on the site come from his company.

Asked after the event if he regretted supporting Harris, Cuban replied, “I'm not going into my politics at all.” Trump announced that over 600 affordable generic drugs would be added to TrumpRx, calling it “the hottest thing in medicine.”
