Newsboy's Wednesday NAP: Solanna to Shine at Yarmouth

Yarmouth stages a seven-race card on Wednesday, with Newsboy's nap, Solanna, fancied to win the 6.40 race. The consistent Solanna runs in the Join Moulton Racing Club Handicap over a mile and a quarter for the in-form John Butler yard. The seven-year-old runs off a 1lb lower mark than when third last time at Nottingham, beaten two and three-quarter lengths by Shady Bay after being short of room three furlongs out. Three starts back, the gelded son of Helmet showed a good attitude over a mile and three furlongs at Kempton to win by a short head from Tortured Soul. The third home, Seventy, and fourth, King's Hand, have both franked the form by winning since, and my selection has not finished lower than fifth in her last five outings. He seems sure to be thereabouts on Wednesday in the hands of Hector Crouch.

At Ffos Las, Bridget Mary (4.50, nb) should take some stopping in the Adept GRP Cabinets Mares' Handicap Chase for trainer Rebecca Curtis. The daughter of Sholokhov won eased down by a whopping 89 lengths from River Run Free over course and distance last time out and previously went down by just a nose to Moor End at Chepstow. She can shrug off a small rise for her Ffos Las victory in what looks a weak race under Rian Corcoran, who takes off a valuable 5lb.
