Wolverhampton Nap Ready to Flow to Victory
The spotlight at Dunstall Park falls on the Win £250,000 With BetMGM's Golden Goals Handicap at 6.30. Newsboy's NAP selection is the David O’Meara-trained Flowstate, a son of Bungle Inthejungle who is fancied to kick off 2026 with a win.
Flowstate ended 2025 in fine form, securing a seven-furlong handicap at Newcastle on December 16 before finishing a close third in a similar event at Wolverhampton just 11 days later. That race was won by Nacho Nacho Nacho, who reopposes here under jockey Mark Winn. While the rival now carries 2lb more favourable terms, Newsboy believes the race dynamics could shift.
Nacho Nacho Nacho made all the running last time in a first-time visor but is expected to face stiffer competition for the lead on Monday. This should set the race up for a strong finisher, a scenario which plays perfectly into the hands of the consistent Flowstate.
Midnight Call Targets Three-Timer at Lingfield
Over at Lingfield Park, the Create Your Bet Builders At Midnite Classified Stakes (2.10) is the target for Newsboy's Next Best selection. Midnight Call, a five-year-old trained by Tony Carroll, is aiming for a hat-trick of victories.
The gelding has triumphed on his last two outings, both at Wolverhampton. His most recent success came just 10 days ago when he held off Dubai Magic by a neck in a classified stakes event. With his form firmly on an upward curve, Midnight Call is tipped to give another commanding performance against his seven rivals.
