Newcastle United have received a quadruple fitness boost ahead of their Premier League clash at Coventry City, with four senior players returning to the matchday squad.
Manager Matthias Jaissle named Dan Burn, Amar Dedic, William Osula and Joelinton all on the bench for the trip to the newly promoted side on a wet night in the East Midlands.
Returning stars
England defender Dan Burn is available for the first time since injuring his ankle in the build-up to the 2-2 draw with Liverpool. The 6ft 7in defender was joined in the defensive ranks by Amar Dedic, who is back after a muscle injury.
Striker William Osula returns after a lay-off, while Brazilian midfielder Joelinton is involved for the first time since pre-season. All four were named among the substitutes.
Team news
Jaissle selected Lewis Miley at right-back, with Sven Botman keeping his place in the heart of defence. In attack, the manager kept faith with £51million signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo, while Osula is desperate to get his first minutes since the opening day of the campaign.
Osula, who has been pushing for a place in the squad, said: "I like the way he (Jaissle) plays. It's direct and forward and that suits my game too, I look forward to playing under his ways and his tactics."
He added: "I just look to provide and do my best on the pitch, thankfully I had trust put me in towards the end of last season. As long as I am on the pitch, the more you play, the more you can show, this is how it is, yeah?"
Line-up
Newcastle's starting XI was: Hornicek; Miley, Thiaw (c), Botman, Hall; Gonzalez, Willock; Murphy, Wissa, Barnes; Fernandez-Pardo.
The substitutes were: Pope, Schar, Joelinton, Bamba, Osula, Steur, Toure, Burn, Dedic.
