Neville Predicts Arsenal Victory Over Man City In Title Race

Gary Neville has predicted that Arsenal will clinch the Premier League title earlier than expected, following their 1-0 victory over West Ham on Sunday. The win maintained Arsenal's five-point lead over Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

Neville believes City will drop points in their rearranged fixture at Bournemouth on 19 May, handing Arsenal the title. He said on the Gary Neville Podcast: 'I think City beat Palace, I think Arsenal beat Burnley and I think Arsenal win it, Tuesday night on the 19th of May by City not doing the job at Bournemouth.'

The former Manchester United defender acknowledged City's ability to push until the end but described the West Ham result as a 'hammer blow' for Pep Guardiola's side. City face Crystal Palace on Wednesday and the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday, before travelling to Bournemouth.

Neville added: 'I think that might be a step too far with how Bournemouth are right now. Being [Andoni] Iraola’s last game at Bournemouth and just the fact that they’re a good side. I called this today a dog of a game for Arsenal. I think the game on Tuesday a week later is a dog of a game for Manchester City.'
