Jordan McCann will fight one-minute rounds this weekend when he takes on Modeen in London. The pair clash on Saturday night on the undercard of Joey Essex's headline meeting with Dapper Laughs.
Both McCann and Modeen are looking for their first win having lost their first two fights on the influencer scene. Modeen has tasted defeat against Vitaly and Wakey Wines, while McCann was outpointed by Ibiza Final Boss and stopped by Big Stacks.
Unusual bout rules
The pair are so out of shape that they will only fight for 60 seconds at a time, with the bout set for five rounds. McCann, who claimed to have retired after losing to Big Stacks, said: "I'm grateful for the opportunity. I didn't even really want to fight. I was just chilling on holiday with my bird and Mams rang me and said, 'Look, these can't sell no tickets, they need you'.
"I'm going to step in and take over. I'm glad they give me an easy fight. I keep getting beat up now. No disrespect when I said that either, but I keep getting beat up, so it's about right. I've just chilling basically. I was on holiday just eating steaks and drinking lager. Obviously I'm heavyweight so it doesn't really matter about the weight and I've never really dieted in my life."
Essex and Dapper Laughs weigh in
Meanwhile, Essex is determined to notch his second win in the ring having outpointed Numeiro last year. "I want to shut people up," he said. "I've been training smarter and I want to box smarter. I want to be a bit more smarter; everyone thinks Joey is stupid but you're going to see I'm more than a pretty face. I'm a lot smarter than you think. I'm not underestimating Mr. O'Reilly, but I know what I'm going to do. I'm going to box smart. You're going to see the smart version of Joey Essex and it's a dangerous one."
Dapper Laughs added: "I've had to lose a stone and a half for this and we've been sparring really hard. I think you're in for quite an electric fight because I know he takes this seriously and he wants to put on a show. They they're trying to make him the poster boy of Misfits but I know how to box."
