Inside Mark Selby's Stunning Home with Pool Bought from Snooker Millions
Mark Selby's Luxury Home Funded by Snooker Winnings

Snooker legend Mark Selby is offering a rare glimpse into the luxurious lifestyle his stellar career has afforded him, as he prepares for a fresh assault on the Masters title.

The Jester's Palace: A Home Fit for a Champion

The four-time world champion, known as 'The Jester from Leicester', has amassed a staggering £9.1 million in career prize money, according to tracking site CueTracker. A significant portion of that wealth has been invested in a stunning family home in Leicester, which was showcased in a tour with the World Snooker Tour (WST) back in 2021.

As Selby gears up to face Xiao Guodong in the opening round of the Masters at Alexandra Palace this Sunday – live on BBC Four – attention has turned to how the sport's elite rewards itself. The 42-year-old is in confident form, having secured the UK Championship title in December, and could pocket a further £350,000 if he clinches the Masters trophy this year.

Inside the Selby Residence: From Practice Room to Pool

The tour of Selby's home began in his personal practice room, a shrine to his achievements. Centred around a professional snooker table, the room features a 'Wall of Honour' listing every world champion, serving as daily inspiration. The property then opens into a sleek, open-plan kitchen and lounge area, decorated in a monochrome palette of black and white, which acts as the hub for family life with his wife Vikki and daughter Sofia.

Perhaps the most eye-catching feature lies in the garden. Beyond a play area for his daughter, Selby has built an impressive outdoor hut housing an indoor swimming pool, a pool table, a bar, and a film projector. In a humorous revelation, Selby admitted during the tour that despite owning this aquatic luxury, he has never learned to swim.

"I still can't swim. Sofia goes in a lot," Selby confessed, recalling a prank by fellow player Mark Williams. "He pretended to push me in and I panicked a little bit! I thought he was gonna push me under."

Focus Returns to the Baize at Ally Pally

While his home offers a sanctuary, Selby's immediate focus is firmly on the green baize. His first-round match at the Masters marks the start of his campaign for a fourth title in the prestigious Triple Crown event, his last win coming in 2013. With £598,950 already earned this season from his UK Championship and Champion of Champions victories, another triumph at Alexandra Palace would be the perfect addition to both his legacy and, perhaps, his home's Wall of Honour.
