Marco Silva has dismissed rumours that he rejected a new contract at Fulham, insisting no discussions have taken place. The Portuguese manager, who has just over 12 months left on his current deal, guided the Cottagers to their highest-ever Premier League points tally of 54 last weekend.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's final-day clash with Manchester City, Silva said: 'No, not at all. We didn't even start. I know there are some rumours around that I refused something but from my side, it's not true at all.' He added that the timing was not right for talks, with many player contracts to resolve.
Fulham captain Tom Cairney and right-back Kenny Tete are in ongoing discussions over extensions, but Willian and Carlos Vinicius are expected to leave. Silva confirmed: 'With Carlos and Willian it's probably going to be the last time they're going to be involved.'
Despite missing out on European qualification, Fulham can still finish above local rivals Brentford if they beat City and other results go their way. Silva remains focused on ending the season strongly.
