Rasmus Hojlund has made it clear he does not want to join RB Leipzig, even as Manchester United explore a deal for Benjamin Sesko. The RB Leipzig striker is a top target for United and Newcastle United, with the Magpies having submitted an opening bid of just under £70 million.
Reports had suggested United could offer Hojlund as part of a swap deal to land Sesko. However, according to talkSPORT, the Danish striker has indicated he has no intention of moving to the Bundesliga side.
United boss Ruben Amorim recently admitted he cannot give guarantees about Hojlund's future. Speaking after Hojlund scored in a 4-1 pre-season win over Bournemouth, Amorim said: 'I'm really happy with Rasmus, but I don't know what is going to happen until the end of the market.' He praised Hojlund's link-up play and improvement.
Hojlund himself appears determined to fight for his place at Old Trafford. He said: 'I think my plan is very clear and that's for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens. Competition is fine with me, it sharpens me. I'm more than ready.'
United are braced for protracted negotiations with Leipzig over Sesko, who has also attracted interest from Newcastle. The 22-year-old Slovenian international has been heavily linked with a Premier League move this summer.
