Man Utd Eyeing Sesko & Jackson as Hojlund Backup Plans – Transfer Update
Man Utd scout Sesko & Jackson as Hojlund alternatives

Manchester United are actively exploring backup options in their hunt for a new striker, with RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson emerging as potential targets, according to reports.

The Red Devils remain keen on Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund but are preparing contingency plans should a deal for the Danish forward prove too costly. United's recruitment team have been closely monitoring Sesko's development in Germany, while Jackson's impressive debut season at Chelsea has also caught their attention.

Sesko: The Rising Star

The 20-year-old Slovenian international has been turning heads in the Bundesliga since his €24m move from Red Bull Salzburg last summer. Standing at 6'4", Sesko combines physical presence with technical ability, making him an attractive prospect for Erik ten Hag's system.

Jackson's Chelsea Conundrum

Nicolas Jackson enjoyed a strong finish to his first Premier League campaign, netting 14 league goals for Chelsea. However, with the Blues reportedly in the market for another striker, United are monitoring the situation closely in case the Senegalese forward becomes available.

United's need for attacking reinforcements has become increasingly urgent following Anthony Martial's persistent injury problems and the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo last season. The club's hierarchy are determined to avoid another season of over-reliance on Marcus Rashford for goals.

Hojlund Remains Priority

Despite these alternative options, Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund remains United's primary target. The 20-year-old Dane scored nine Serie A goals last season and shares similar physical attributes to Manchester City's Erling Haaland.

However, with Atalanta demanding upwards of £60m for their prized asset, United are wisely exploring other options in what promises to be a busy summer transfer window at Old Trafford.
