Man Utd in Daily Onana Talks as Heaton Signs New Deal

Manchester United are in daily discussions with Trabzonspor over the permanent transfer of goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to the Turkish club's president. The Cameroon international, who joined United from Inter Milan for an initial £43.8m, has been on loan at Trabzonspor this season after losing his place to Altay Bayindir.

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan confirmed the ongoing talks, stating: 'We speak with Onana every day. We won't have any financial difficulties.' However, he warned that the club is prepared to look elsewhere if a deal cannot be agreed, adding: 'We'll make the necessary sacrifices. I don't think we will experience any setbacks. But if we do, we will find another goalkeeper of the same quality.'

Meanwhile, third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton has signed a new one-year contract at Old Trafford. The 40-year-old, who has made just three first-team appearances since returning to United in 2021, expressed his delight at extending his stay. 'It is a huge honour to continue to represent Manchester United,' Heaton said. 'You can feel the determination and ambition of everyone throughout the club to keep pushing for success.'
