Collyer Secures Championship Loan Move
Toby Collyer is set for a second loan spell this season, with a switch to Hull City now agreed. The 22-year-old midfielder spent the first half of the campaign with West Bromwich Albion, making 12 appearances, but returned to Old Trafford on New Year's Day to recover from injury.
Hull manager Sergej Jakirovic confirmed the deal this weekend, stating the player is due for a medical. "With Toby Collyer we are waiting but I think we have a green light from Man United and I think he will join us on Monday," said Jakirovic. "We have agreed everything with Man United. He will have a medical this weekend."
Collyer, who has 13 senior appearances for United, will hope for more game time at the MKM Stadium as Hull, currently fifth in the Championship, push for Premier League promotion.
Emotional Farewell for Academy Graduate Mather
In a separate move, winger Sam Mather has ended his 14-year association with Manchester United, completing a permanent transfer to Turkish Süper Lig side Kayserispor. The 21-year-old, who joined the club's academy as a child, leaves without making a senior appearance for the Red Devils.
Mather was part of the United side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2022 and had previous loan spells at Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers. During his time in the youth setup, he contributed 29 goals and 23 assists for the under-18 and under-21 teams.
In a farewell statement, Mather said: "After 14 years my time at Man Utd has come to an end. I would like to thank all the staff and players who have helped me become the person and player I am today. I will always be grateful for my time here and wish the club all the best."
