Hull City are poised to hand Brandon Williams a contract at the MKM Stadium, with the club impressed by the former Manchester United defender's attitude and application during his trial period. The 24-year-old is expected to be given the opportunity to make his temporary stay permanent as he seeks to revive his career following a tumultuous two years.
Williams made his second appearance for the Tigers on Saturday, coming on as a substitute in the second half of the goalless draw with Spanish La Liga side Getafe, reinforcing his cameo against Sunderland earlier in the week. He demonstrated his versatility by playing at right-back, replacing Cody Drameh, while Ryan Giles continued on the left.
Hull City see Williams as a player with genuine potential and believe that under head coach Sergej Jakirovic, they can extract the best from a player who first gained recognition at Manchester United. Further discussions will be held in the coming days with the aim of finalising a free transfer before the season opener at Coventry City next Saturday.
Jakirovic acknowledged that Williams will require time to regain his form, having not played a competitive match since December 2023 during a loan spell at Ipswich Town.
