Bayern Munich have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Liverpool winger Luis Díaz with a £52m offer, according to German sources. The move comes after the Bundesliga side missed out on Florian Wirtz, who chose Liverpool over Bavaria. Talks have taken place between Díaz's representatives and Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl, but Liverpool have indicated they would only consider a significantly higher bid.
Díaz, 28, is said to be open to an 'exciting offer', though this may be a tactic to secure improved terms at Anfield. The Colombian is reportedly on lower wages than several teammates, including Darwin Núñez, who earns more than double his salary. However, no contract extension is currently on the table.
Liverpool's primary transfer target remains Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. Reports suggest the Reds may have received encouragement after Newcastle joined the race for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, valued at £85m. The 23-year-old is also attracting interest from Chelsea and Saudi clubs but prefers to stay in Europe.
Nottingham Forest face a squad overhaul, with Anthony Elanga linked to Newcastle and Morgan Gibbs-White reportedly set for a medical at Tottenham. To fill the gap, Forest are pursuing Manchester City's James McAtee, though their £25m offer falls short of City's £40m valuation.
