Conor Bradley scored once and provided two assists as Liverpool moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 4-1 win over Chelsea at Anfield.
In their first league match since the announcement that Jurgen Klopp will leave the club at the end of the season, Liverpool responded emphatically after Arsenal's victory over Nottingham Forest briefly closed the gap. Darwin Nunez hit the woodwork twice early on, and Liverpool's deserved opener came midway through the first half when Bradley played the ball inside and Diogo Jota bundled through the defence to finish from close range.
Bradley got his first goal for the club as Luis Diaz slid the ball through to the right-back, who drove into the box and fired a superb strike into the far corner. The match should have been put to bed in first-half stoppage time, but Nunez hit the post from the penalty spot, his third woodwork strike of the half.
Liverpool's third goal came 20 minutes into the second half when Bradley whipped in a superb cross and Dominik Szoboszlai powered home a header. Christopher Nkunku pulled one back for Chelsea, but Liverpool restored their three-goal lead when Nunez, who hit the woodwork for a fourth time, played the ball across the face of goal for Diaz to tap in.
