Beauty director Jacqueline Kilikita highlighted the trend's appeal, noting that pre-wrap's shiny finish resembles silk or satin. Unlike traditional headbands, it moulds to the head and grips hair without adhesive, staying put without tugging.
Amy Drucquer, founder of This Fan Girl, said players trust themselves to make decisions for best performance, and the subtle style reflects the increased scrutiny on women's appearance compared to men's tournaments. She added that the Lionesses are setting precedents in the women's game.
Kilikita believes the trend will catch on, calling the Lionesses trendsetters who make convenience look chic. The pre-wrap headband offers a resourceful and cheap hair hack for fans and players alike.
