Leeds stun Manchester United with Okafor double and Martínez red card

Leeds United secured a historic 3-2 victory at Old Trafford, their first league win at the ground since February 1981, leaving Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick to suffer his first home defeat. The win lifted Leeds six points clear of Tottenham, deepening the visitors' relegation fears.

Noah Okafor scored twice in the first half, with the first coming inside five minutes after a cross from Jayden Bogle was flicked on by Leny Yoro. The Swiss striker added a second from long range, which deflected off Yoro, to put Leeds in control. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was involved in the build-up to both goals, and later had his ponytail pulled by Lisandro Martínez, who was shown a straight red card in the 56th minute after a VAR review.

Casemiro pulled one back for United with a header, but Leeds held on for a memorable victory. Carrick described Martínez's red card as a 'shocking decision', while Leeds fans celebrated with chants of 'Daniel Farke' and 'marching on together'. The result leaves Leeds six points clear of the relegation zone, while United remain in contention for Champions League qualification.
