Ex-Goldman Sachs banker sued by neighbours over ceiling collapse

A former Goldman Sachs banker is being sued for more than £100,000 by her millionaire neighbours in Knightsbridge, who claim her leaking shower caused their ceiling to collapse. Swedish property firm boss Samuel Wagner and his wife Jennifer say that 'nuisance and negligence relating to leaks' and other problems with their upstairs neighbour Leda Sara's flat forced them out of their £1.4 million home on three occasions.

The couple claim that multiple leaks from the flat above, as well as 'excessive heat loss and vermin... dust and rubbish deposits' during renovation works, caused 'nuisance' and forced them to move into rented accommodation. They also allege that delays in certifying that the leaks were fixed caused a sale of their flat to fall through, costing them £60,000.

Ms Sara, 50, who now runs her own luxury property company, bought her flat in 2014 for £1.6 million and renovated it before letting it out. She is defending the case, claiming she has no liability and blaming the contractors for any issues. She also disputes the amounts claimed.

The dispute was heard at Mayors and City County Court, where the couple's barrister detailed multiple leaks and a ceiling collapse in 2019. Ms Sara's barrister denied liability, stating that the claimant's case is 'entirely without merit'. The case continues.
