Kulusevski returns to full Tottenham training after setback
Kulusevski back in full Tottenham training after setback

Dejan Kulusevski has resumed full-team training with Tottenham after a minor setback in his recovery from a complicated kneecap injury. The midfielder last played for Spurs in their 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in May 2025.

Recovery timeline and setback

After two surgeries and more than 450 days on the sidelines, the Sweden international appeared close to a return when he took part in training at the start of September. However, his rehabilitation hit a small obstacle, with Roberto De Zerbi revealing a minor issue had kept him out of training with the squad ahead of the goalless draw with Nottingham Forest on September 5.

“Kulusevski started [training] with us at the beginning of the week, and then the last two days, a small, small problem, stopped [him from training],” De Zerbi said. “But I think he’s in a good way. It’s going very well. I already said the medical staff is very high level. We can be positive with him. I’m looking forward to having Deki in the squad.”

Training footage and Manchester United clash

Tottenham have since released footage from training during the international break as preparations continue for the Premier League match against Manchester United on October 10. Kulusevski took part in the session and combined with Mohammed Kudus in one attacking drill, offering encouragement to supporters.

Kulusevski has been included in Spurs’ Premier League squad, making him eligible to face Manchester United at Old Trafford a week on Saturday, amid reports he could be involved. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham’s medical team decide the Sweden international is fit enough to make his first appearance for the club in 17 months.
