Kerkez Reveals Salah's Trophy Cabinet and Family Life

Liverpool defender Milos Kerkez has offered a fascinating glimpse into the illustrious trophy cabinet of his teammate Mohamed Salah, alongside revealing the personal motivations behind the Egyptian star's recent contract renewal. The pair became colleagues at Anfield in the summer, with Kerkez joining in a £40 million transfer from Bournemouth as Salah committed to a new deal with the club.

Salah's Trophy Collection Showcased

Despite a challenging season where Salah has faced a Premier League goal drought and reported tensions with manager Arne Slot, his legacy at Liverpool remains untarnished. Over nine years with the Reds, Salah has secured eight major trophies, including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, and the FA Cup. His individual accolades are equally impressive, featuring four Premier League Golden Boot awards and numerous Player of the Month and Player of the Match honours.

Kerkez, who has settled into his role after an initial adjustment period, recently visited Salah's family home on Merseyside, where he photographed the striker's extensive trophy display. The image reveals a floor-to-ceiling cabinet with three large glass doors, dominated by a replica Champions League trophy at its centre. Surrounding it are a plethora of awards, highlighting Salah's consistent excellence on the pitch.

Family Happiness Drives Contract Decision

Salah's decision to extend his stay at Liverpool was heavily influenced by his family's contentment in the city. He resides with his wife Magi, whom he married in 2013 after knowing her since childhood in their Egyptian village of Basion Gharbia, and their two daughters: Makka, aged 11, and Kayan, six. In interviews, Salah emphasised that while factors like financial security and ambition played a role, his family's happiness was paramount.

'They feel at home,' Salah stated. 'Magi and the kids were very happy that we’re staying another two years. It feels like home so everyone was happy. Makka was the happiest one because her friends are here and the school. It was a very good vibe after I signed.' He added, 'I'm enjoying my life here. My family also feels at home. We enjoy every moment in the city and every moment in the club.'

Humble Beginnings and Modern Lifestyle

Salah's journey from a humble background in Egypt, where he endured four-hour bus journeys five days a week to train with Al Mokawloon, often missing school, has shaped his relentless determination. Today, his home life is meticulously designed to maintain peak physical condition. His property, located in the same neighbourhood as Manchester City's Erling Haaland, features two gym rooms, cryotherapy facilities, and a hyperbaric chamber, underscoring his commitment to fitness and performance.

This blend of professional success and personal fulfilment paints a comprehensive picture of Salah's life at Liverpool, as shared by his teammate Kerkez, highlighting both the trophies on display and the family values that anchor his career decisions.
