Jordan Nobbs Reveals Truth Behind Emotional Arsenal Exit

Aston Villa have signed England midfielder Jordan Nobbs from Arsenal, ending her 12-year spell with the Gunners. The 30-year-old has agreed an 18-month contract with an option to extend.

Nobbs, who missed the Lionesses' victorious European Championship campaign due to a knee ligament injury, won three Women's Super League titles and four Women's FA Cups during her time at Arsenal. She returned to the England squad for last September's World Cup qualifiers.

In an emotional farewell letter on Arsenal's website, Nobbs wrote: 'I've cried a lot over the past few days because I knew this was coming. There's a saying that you shouldn't cry because it's over, you should smile because it happened, but I'm allowed to do both, right?'

She added: 'I'm leaving the love of my life behind and that's something really quite scary for me. But I've got no regrets because it's been the perfect fairytale.'

Aston Villa manager Carla Ward said: 'This is a big signing for us. Jordan is one of the country's most decorated footballers and will bring a wealth of experience that her new teammates will thrive off.'
