The ceremony, held at the Miho Training Centre in Ibaraki Prefecture, was attended by her trainer, Miho Kawada, and dozens of devoted fans who came to pay their respects. Kawada, visibly moved, described Liberty Island as "a once-in-a-lifetime horse" who had brought immense joy to everyone connected with her.
