Jade Cargill Denies PED Claims, Credits Genetics and Hard Work

WWE superstar Jade Cargill has issued a robust rebuttal after facing accusations of using performance-enhancing drugs to attain her formidable physique. The allegations surfaced on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, where a wrestling fan commented on a video of the 33-year-old athlete performing gym exercises.

Social Media Spat and Firm Denial

The fan provocatively stated, "She 100% takes PEDs now that I'm seeing her do them presses," prompting Cargill to respond directly. In her retort, Cargill wrote, "I was going to read you for filth. But it's no point. Long story short. No, I'm not on anything." She elaborated further, emphasising her natural athleticism and dedication.

"I have GREAT genetics and I work hard," Cargill asserted. "You can look at my brother and see my genetics. This clip is when I found out about my neck issues which affected my lifting. I swear y'all will try to discredit me for anything. I've ALWAYS been muscular. But I see you can use a meal plan."

Athletic Background and Career Trajectory

Cargill, the reigning WWE Women's Champion, is preparing to defend her title against fan favourite Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania in Las Vegas on April 19. Her athletic prowess is deeply rooted in a lifelong commitment to sports. Growing up, she played basketball extensively, continuing through college and into her twenties.

Her transition to professional wrestling began in 2018, leading to a contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) by 2020. There, she rapidly ascended to become the promotion's premier female star, capturing the TBS Championship and setting a record as the longest-reigning champion in AEW history. In 2023, she moved to WWE, where she has already secured two tag team championships alongside Bianca Belair.

Rigorous Training and Nutritional Discipline

Known for one of the most impressive physiques in wrestling, Cargill attributes her build to consistent effort and disciplined habits. She previously revealed to Muscle and Fitness magazine, "I’ve been in sports all my life, so I’ve been attracted to bodybuilding forever." Reflecting on her childhood, she added, "I watched Chyna when I was growing up and I was muscular growing up. I would get picked on because of how built I was and seeing [Chyna] embody her presence, it made me love myself and say: 'You know what? I love my body and I want to get stronger.'"

Her training regimen is exceptionally demanding:

  • Workouts five days per week, each lasting two and a half hours.
  • Three days dedicated to lower body exercises.
  • Two days focused on upper body development.

Nutrition plays a critical role in her routine, with Cargill describing eating well as "half the battle" for achieving peak physical condition. She avoids meat and pasta but occasionally indulges in treats like cookies, with her preferred cheat meal being a Domino's cheese pizza featuring a thick, cheesy crust.

Personal Life and WrestleMania Preview

Outside the ring, Cargill is in a long-term relationship with Major League Baseball star Brandon Phillips, and the couple are parents to an eight-year-old daughter, Bailey Quinn. Her professional focus now shifts to WrestleMania 42, scheduled for April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The event promises a stacked card beyond Cargill's title defence:

  1. Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship on night one.
  2. CM Punk facing Roman Reigns on night two.
  3. Stephanie Vaquer challenging Liv Morgan for the WWE Women's World Championship on night two.
  4. Brock Lesnar taking on newcomer Oba Femi.
  5. A fatal four-way tag team match for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.

As the spectacle approaches, Cargill remains steadfast in her commitment to natural athletic achievement, using the recent controversy to underscore her philosophy of hard work and genetic fortune over artificial enhancement.
