Igor Tudor is flailing in the face of panic as Tottenham face a relegation battle, according to Italian media. The interim head coach has lost three matches in charge, with the latest a 3-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace. Spurs have won only two Premier League games at home all season, the worst record in the division.
Tudor has tried three different formations in three games, but nothing has worked. He has criticised the players' fitness, desire and intelligence, saying the team are 'lacking' in defence, midfield, attack and 'brain' department. After the Palace loss, he attempted a positive tone, but observers say he is kidding nobody.
The club's board are not considering sacking Tudor after only three matches, as the market for replacements is limited. However, there are growing questions from supporters about whether he should remain. The team are hampered by injuries to key players, with several expected back soon.
Spurs have nine league games left, starting at Liverpool on 5 March, with a Champions League last-16 first leg at Atlético Madrid on 28 February. Captain Cristian Romero returns from suspension, but Micky van de Ven is suspended for the Liverpool match.
