Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has criticised Arsenal's defenders after they squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Watford on Sunday. The striker scored twice in the first half to put the Gunners in control, but defensive errors allowed the hosts to fight back.
Speaking to Canal Plus, Aubameyang said: 'I feel like we are literally giving goals to the opposition. It is up to us to progress.' He refrained from blaming individuals, noting that attackers could have sealed the win with a third goal.
Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness launched a scathing attack on Arsenal's defence, saying: 'They capitulated. Proper teams don't play like that.' He criticised their persistence with playing out from the back, which led to costly mistakes.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos gifted Watford their first goal by attempting to pass out from defence, while David Luiz conceded a penalty for the equaliser. Arsenal have now drawn three of their five Premier League matches this season.
