Ben Miller has shared exciting news about the fifth series of Professor T, but UK fans are still waiting for the fourth. On Wednesday, August 5, the 60-year-old actor took to Instagram to announce that all six episodes of Season 5 would be available early in the US via PBS Passport and PBS Masterpiece on Prime Video, starting Sunday, August 9, ahead of the broadcast premiere on October 18.
UK fans express frustration
While many fans were thrilled about the US release, UK viewers voiced their discontent in the comments, noting that series four has not yet aired on ITV. One fan wrote: "@itv, meanwhile, UK fans are still waiting for S4, right?" Another commented: "Just found out we are a year behind the States and am not happy. Should have seen S4 already over here. I have been wondering why it’s taken so bloody long."
ITV confirms series 4 premiere date
Despite the complaints, ITV has confirmed that series four will launch on ITV1 at 9pm on Wednesday, August 19, more than two years after the previous series ended. The new series picks up after the dramatic series three finale, in which DS Lisa Donckers was critically injured in a hit-and-run. The incident and its aftermath will be central to the upcoming episodes.
