Nigeria take on Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday as the Super Eagles continue their qualification campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. Eric Chelle’s side are strong favourites to take control of a group that also contains AFCON co-hosts Tanzania and Madagascar, whom they beat last Friday.
Team news and Osimhen absence
However, they will have to cope without Victor Osimhen, as their star striker is not involved once again as he recovers from a groin injury suffered on club duty with Galatasaray earlier this season.
He was replaced in the lineup by Al-Ittihad striker George Ilenikhena and he marked his senior debut with the equaliser as Nigeria made hard work of Madagascar in their first outing since the Unity Cup and a pair of pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Portugal in the summer. Another debutant in Moses Usor completed the turnaround to ensure the Super Eagles made a winning start to qualification.

Kick-off is at 5pm BST from the Estadio 24 de Setembro. This is the second round of games from Group L of Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualification.
Nigeria finished third at the last edition of AFCON in Morocco earlier this year and will hope to chase a fourth continental title next summer.
