Fury Plans August Warm-Up Before Joshua Clash at Wembley
Fury Plans August Warm-Up Before Joshua Fight

Tyson Fury has announced his intention to have a warm-up fight in August, as preparations intensify for his highly anticipated showdown with Anthony Joshua. Both British heavyweights have officially signed to face each other later this year, with October or November at Wembley Stadium emerging as the most likely timeframe and venue.

Warm-Up Bouts Scheduled

Anthony Joshua is already set for a tune-up fight against Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on 25 July. Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, confirmed that Fury also wants to step into the ring before facing Joshua to avoid ring rust. Warren dismissed Andy Ruiz Jr as a potential opponent for Fury's warm-up, stating that the former champion is not under consideration.

Long-Awaited Super-Fight

The super-fight between Fury and Joshua has been discussed and even signed on previous occasions but was postponed multiple times due to various issues, including legal action from Deontay Wilder. With both fighters now committed, the bout is expected to be one of the biggest in British boxing history.

Fury's camp is keen to ensure he enters the ring in peak condition, and a warm-up fight is seen as essential to shake off any inactivity. The exact opponent for Fury's August bout has yet to be announced, but Warren indicated that several names are being considered.
