Fulham Thrash Brentford 5-1 in Premier League Derby

Fulham produced a stunning comeback to beat Brentford 5-1 in a west London derby at Craven Cottage, with Alex Iwobi inspiring the victory. The hosts fell behind early after a mistake from teenager Josh King allowed Mikkel Damsgaard to score, but they responded emphatically. Iwobi equalised before half-time, then set up Harry Wilson to put Fulham ahead, and Ethan Pinnock's own goal extended the lead after the break. Two late goals sealed a comprehensive win, leaving Brentford winless away this season.

Marco Silva's tactical changes proved decisive, as he shifted Harry Wilson to nullify Keane Lewis-Potter and linked Iwobi with Ryan Sessegnon on the left. Fulham dominated possession and created numerous chances, while Brentford struggled with defensive indecision. Silva praised his team's resilience, saying: 'We were the best team on the pitch, our first half was top level. We conceded a goal we didn't deserve, but we kept cool and showed our resilience.'

Brentford took the lead in the 20th minute when King's blind pass was intercepted by Damsgaard, who finished coolly. However, Fulham responded quickly, with Iwobi equalising in the 38th minute after a scramble in the box. Two minutes later, Wilson finished a slick move to make it 2-1, and Pinnock's own goal in the 50th minute put the game beyond doubt. Rodrigo Muniz had a goal disallowed for a foul, but Fulham added two more late on to complete the rout.

Brentford manager Keith Andrews admitted his side's defensive errors were costly: 'There was a period where they started to get the better of us. If you concede one, don't concede again. I was really disappointed with the second goal.' The defeat leaves Brentford with three away losses from three games this season.
