Man Charged After Car Crash Injures Footballer Dean Watson

A 31-year-old man has been charged following a car crash that left footballer Dean Watson seriously injured. The incident occurred on the B7076 near Ecclefechan on 22 October.

Dean Watson, 24, was hit by a car and subsequently taken to a hospital in Glasgow for treatment. Police Scotland confirmed that a man has been charged with road traffic offences.

A police statement added that a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. Watson joined Queen of the South in July 2018, making three substitute appearances, before moving to his hometown club Gretna. He later joined South of Scotland Football League side Dalbeattie Star this summer.
