Football Authorities Respond
Kick It Out chief executive Tony Burnett described the findings as "deeply concerning" and called for immediate action from all football stakeholders. The Football Association has pledged to review its reporting mechanisms and sanctions for discriminatory behaviour.
"These figures should serve as a wake-up call to everyone involved in football," Burnett stated. "While increased reporting is positive, the underlying rise in discrimination is unacceptable."
