Bellingham Brace Sends England to Semi-Finals
England secured their place in the 2026 World Cup semi-finals with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Norway in Miami. Jude Bellingham was the hero, scoring twice, including the decisive goal in extra time.
Norway took the lead when Andreas Schjelderup's cross flew in off Jordan Pickford's post. Bellingham equalised before half-time with an excellent strike. Both teams had a second goal disallowed before Bellingham tapped home from Morgan Rogers' saved shot in extra time.
Player Ratings
Jordan Pickford 7 – Made saves from Erling Haaland twice but was beaten by the cross off his post, a disallowed Norway goal, and Kristoffer Ajer's header against the crossbar. Good distribution with long balls.
Ezri Konsa 7 – Filled in well at right-back, limiting Antonio Nusa's threat.
John Stones 6 – A poor pass nearly let Haaland through but recovered well, clearing headers effectively.
Marc Guehi 7 – Composed on the ball but struggled physically against Haaland in some duels.
Nico O'Reilly 7 – Possibly his best tournament performance before being substituted; tidy on the ball and disciplined defensively.
Elliot Anderson 7 – Energetic and impressive, involved in Bellingham's first goal.
Declan Rice 5 – Limited impact before being substituted; poor corner delivery again.
Noni Madueke 5 – One dangerous cross but otherwise safe or wasteful in possession.
Jude Bellingham 9 – Outstanding. Levelled with a powerful, composed finish and won the game with a tap-in showing striker's instincts.
Anthony Gordon 7 – Assisted Bellingham's first goal, tireless off the ball, and an outlet in possession. Subbed off after 71 minutes.
Harry Kane 6 – Not his best game but had a goal disallowed for offside. Worked hard, especially after losing possession.

Reece James 7 – Nervous start but grew into the game, using his physicality well in midfield and defending solidly in extra time.
