Emma Raducanu came up short in the HSBC Championships women's final at the Queen's Club on Sunday. However, the British No. 1 remains one of the most recognisable faces in tennis, with her private life drawing significant interest.
Queen's Club Final Defeat
The 2021 US Open champion enjoyed her most high-profile run since her Grand Slam win, marching to the Queen's final where she faced the resurgent Donna Vekic, a Wimbledon semi-finalist in 2024. Unfortunately, she was beaten 6-0 in the first set and lost a thrilling second set 7-6 (8-6).
Raducanu will enter The Championships this summer in good standing, having also made the final of the Transylvania Open in February. The 23-year-old Brit will be the subject of endless attention at SW19, including her love life, as Mirror Sport examines Raducanu's off-court exploits.
Split from Billionaire Boyfriend
In 2023, Raducanu was reported to be in a relationship with Carlo Agostinelli, son of business tycoon Robert Agostinelli, co-owner and chairman of private equity firm Rhone Group. The couple's romance became public when they were photographed together at Paris Fashion Week, but 12 months later the relationship appeared to have ended. In a rather cutting move, Raducanu reportedly even blocked Agostinelli on social media.
The Carlos Alcaraz Rumours
Raducanu has faced considerable speculation about Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz since they played together at the US Open in 2025. She has consistently maintained they are simply very close friends, although Alcaraz's admission that he was looking for a romantic partner in 2024 only fuelled further rumours. "I am looking for someone," Alcaraz said. "It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time."
Raducanu brushed aside the speculation, saying: "It is nice and I think, for all of us, we really value those connections that we had from when we were young. Because when you become a bit more known or a bit more successful, you just find yourself reverting back to people you knew from a young age and because that's a real genuine connection." She added: "I remember he beat Stef [Tsitsipas] in the third round and it was like a big win, his breakout win on a big stage and it was really cool to kind of go through that tournament together. We have a good relationship still. He's obviously overtaken me a lot, but it's nice we have that from a while ago."
The 'Terrible' Question
Fellow Brit Cameron Norrie has also been the subject of romantic rumours, though he was quick to shut down suggestions they were an item. During a Wimbledon press conference, Norrie was asked point-blank whether he was romantically involved with Raducanu. A visibly baffled Norrie, who is in a long-standing relationship with girlfriend Louise Jacobi, replied: "Sorry?!" The reporter pressed on: "I am trying to find out who is dating Emma Raducanu. It seems to be a question circulating among all the men's singles... I was wondering if you're dating her, please?"
Norrie replied: "I'm not, no. You can ask her. I don't know." Responding to the uncomfortable moment, Raducanu burst out laughing before remarking: "That was terrible, terrible." Addressing the ongoing rumours surrounding her love life, the 23-year-old continued: "I know, I know. I guess I'm like, it comes with the territory, people being so curious. I think they're more curious about this news than any tennis results and tennis news. But I just keep myself to myself, my private life to one side. It's always funny when people try to find something out, but I try not to read into it so much."
